Gold IRA Company Comparison: Fees, Custody, Storage & Pricing
The most useful comparison is a worksheet built from current written quotes. Public marketing pages are a starting point, not the completed analysis.
Comparison worksheet
| Field | Provider A | Provider B |
|---|---|---|
| Opening minimum | Write amount | Write amount |
| Setup fee | Write amount | Write amount |
| Annual custodian | Write amount | Write amount |
| Annual storage | Write amount + type | Write amount + type |
| Exact metal purchase price | Write quote | Write quote |
| Indicative repurchase price | Write quote | Write quote |
| Promotion conditions | Write terms | Write terms |
Separate the entities
Record the dealer, IRA custodian and depository separately. A dealer's reputation does not substitute for reviewing the custodian's legal account documents or the depository arrangement.
Compare the same product
Comparing one dealer's bullion bar to another dealer's specialty coin can hide the pricing difference. Use identical or economically comparable products whenever possible.
Pressure is data
If a salesperson resists giving a written fee schedule, pushes an urgent transfer, or avoids a clear repurchase quote, treat that behavior as part of the comparison.
