About Gold IRA Journal & Editorial Methodology

Updated September 12, 2026

Gold IRA Journal is an independent educational publication about precious-metals retirement investing. We aim to make a complicated, sales-heavy category easier to evaluate by separating account rules, transaction economics and merchant marketing.

Important: This is general education, not individualized investment, tax or legal advice. Precious-metals prices can rise or fall, and self-directed IRAs can involve dealer spreads, custody, storage, administration and tax rules.

Source hierarchy

For federal IRA and rollover rules we prioritize IRS materials. For precious-metals risk and fraud framing we use CFTC and FINRA guidance. Merchant pages are used for merchant-specific fees, policies and offers, and are labeled as such.

How we handle changing facts

Fees, minimums, promotions, review counts and account partners can change. We date those statements and encourage readers to obtain current written documents before acting.

No fabricated experience

We do not claim to have opened, funded or personally used an account unless that experience actually occurred and can be documented. Company reviews are research reviews, not disguised testimonials.

Commercial relationship

Gold IRA Journal may receive compensation from Noble Gold when readers use eligible links and take qualifying action. Compensation creates an incentive, so we disclose it near those links and do not let it substitute for evidence.

Corrections

If a factual merchant term changes, the appropriate remedy is to update the page and its date—not to preserve an obsolete figure for the sake of consistency.
